Our Mission Statement: Learning today for tomorrow with heads, hearts and hands, reflects the School's commitment to learning which is intellectual, emotional and spiritual, and active.

The Curriculum
The curriculum is balanced to develop the academic, artistic and sporting skills of students; to enhance their social and personal skills; to prepare them for living in an increasingly technological and changing society; and to assist them develop sound values and attitudes.

The School places a strong emphasis on the development of basic skills, the use of creative learning processes and the incorporation of Christian values throughout the curriculum.

As with all schools in Western Australia St Stephen's academic curriculum is conducted under the direction of the Curriculum Council of Western Australia.

Special Features of the Curriculum
The School has a strong performing Visual and Performing Arts program. All students have the option to learn a musical instrument of their choice, to participate in a band or ensemble and to share in one of several choirs. Year 3 students all learn a string instrument.

All students are encouraged to participate in sports teams according to their interests and abilities. In addition, the Primary School Physical Education program focuses on the physical development of students. and the Secondary School program introduces the students to a comprehensive range of sports and sporting skills.

French and Indonesian are studied throughout the School commencing in Year 2.

All students participate in the School's Faith and Values program which encourages students to consider personal and faith values.

Within the Primary School, specialist staff teach Art, Music, Physical Education, French and Indonesian.

We acknowledge the dffering needs of students and seek to provide for each student's particular level of development. Throughout the School there are extensive programs for gifted and talented students, and for those who struggle with their learning.

The Secondary educational program provides for both university-bound and vocational training.

Student learning is enhanced by participation in a number of enriching co-curricular clubs and programs. Students are invited to become involved in activities such as the Amnesty International Club, the Environment Club, Chess, Mock Trials and Debating.

Camps and Tours
Students are able to participate in a variety of curriculum-based camps and tours within Australia and overseas.
