St Stephen's School is committed to providing a caring environment in which students, staff and families are supported.

This is achieved through programs and activities such as the following:

House System
All students and staff are allocated to a House in which they remain throughout their time in St Stephen's School. Each House is lead by a Dean who is a member of the School's Leadership team.

Within the House structure:

  • Faith and value can be developed
  • Relationships can be developed with adults and peers
  • Concerns and feelings can be expressed
  • Individual worth and group membership can be enhanced
  • Transition through different phases of education can be monitored

Student Leadership
Students participate in a number of programs in Primary and Secondary school in which they interact across the age groups. These include peer support, House and Student Council and House Captains

Care and Discipline
The focus of all disciplinary action is the growth and welfare of the student. Much time is spent in assisting, in consultation with parents and other staff, to change inappropriate behaviour.

Parent Involvement
The School works in partnership with parents for the good of their children. Programs are also run which assist parents in the sometimes difficult task of parenting.

School Nurse
Each campus has a full-time professional nurse who attends to students with illness and injury as well as conducting programs in classrooms and acting as a health resource to the School community.
